Meet The Founder:

Jeffrey Wadhams

With a vision for building something meaningful, our founder brings a lifelong passion for thoroughbred racing where one principle guides every decision above all else: the soundness and long-term well-being of the horse always come first.

Coming from a multi-generation family business built on discipline, Jeffrey approaches racehorse ownership with the same standards of care, accountability, and long-term thinking. In thoroughbred racing, that translates to patience, restraint, and a firm commitment to doing things the right way—never the rushed way.

Wadhams Thoroughbred Racing was founded to create an ownership model that respects the horse as the central athlete. Acquisition decisions emphasize physical durability, correct conformation, and mental composure, while training partnerships are selected specifically for horsemanship, transparency, and a conservative approach to managing equine athletes.

Under Jeffrey’s leadership, the operation prioritizes:

  • Soundness, longevity, and responsible placement above short-term results

  • Conservative training philosophies focused on durability, not speed at any cost

  • Open communication with trainers and veterinarians

  • Ownership decisions that place the horse’s welfare ahead of schedules or expectations

Jeffrey remains personally involved in every phase of the operation—from evaluating physicals and monitoring training progression to owner communication and race-day management—ensuring the founding philosophy is upheld without exception.

At Wadhams Thoroughbred Racing, success is measured not only by performance, but by stewardship. The horse comes first—always.
